Caplor has been awarded a grant of almost £1,000 to facilitate a more sustainable approach to travel amongst employees.
The grant was awarded by Herefordshire Council following the submission of a sustainable travel plan. Caplor will use the fund to purchase equipment to support teleworking, thus reducing the frequency of commutes by employees.
It is expected that the grant will help Caplor to reduce the travel-related carbon emissions of the business. Paul and Felicity have already used the new voicestation for a telephone interview (see photo). In addition to the environmental benefits, the teleworking equipment will help to support the flexible work arrangements of employees.
The grant forms part of a wider emphasis on sustainability at Caplor. Between March and May a graduate will be conducting a study into the carbon footprint of the farm, and will make practical recommendations for further environmental improvements.
