Caplor Energy are delighted to announce a new commercial partnership with the National Farmers Union (NFU) as one of their recommended partners for renewable energy advice and installations for their 55,000+ members throughout England and Wales.
The NFU is the most successful representation body for agriculture and horticulture in England and Wales. Their purpose is to champion British agriculture and horticulture, to campaign for a stable and sustainable future for British farmers and to secure the best possible deal for their members.
The partnership will provide the NFU’s extensive membership of farmers and growers with the opportunity to generate and store their own renewable electricity on their farms or at home and save money by installing green technology with a trusted installer.
Neil Evans, Managing Director, Caplor Energy said: “We are thrilled and excited to be working in partnership with the NFU. Their values and culture blend well with ours and we look forward to being able to help NFU members in the agricultural community to deliver a brighter, more sustainable future through renewable energy”
Based on clear climate change evidence and targets to reach net zero emissions by 2050, a lot of farmers are now thinking about the social and environmental impact of their activities in addition to the economic benefits and overall business profitability. Today, it is much easier for farmers to make the right choices to reduce their bills, protect themselves from future energy rises and also demonstrate a commitment to carbon efficiency and longer term sustainability.
But, what many farmers may not realise is that by installing renewable energy solutions such as solar PV, renewable heating, battery storage or solar thermal, it could actually be the best investment they will ever make. With rising energy costs, payback periods for renewable energy systems can be as quick as 3-4 years. When you add that to ongoing energy security and a potential 40 year lifespan on solar PV systems for example, it increasingly makes economic sense to consider the change.
What we are seeing now is that it’s not as hard as you may have thought to contribute towards the country’s sustainability goals and make changes that can reduce your impact on the environment. Making the right decisions can actually be good business for your farm. It doesn’t have to cost a fortune to be sustainable, we just need to play our part with a hugely increased sense of urgency.
